AUTOCORRECT LINE PROBLEM

Why am I getting a line on the left side of the page when using Autocorrect in Word 2000
I don't have have this problem when using Autocorect in Outlook even though I'm using Word as the editor
If I correct the problem by saving the text in Outlook, then it works fine in Word, until I close Word. Then I have the problem again. This poblem started after I re-insatlled Windows in a clean folder and reinstall all my programs
I copied the mso1033.acl and WORD NORMAL.DOT template from a backup into the new office and template folders
