Autofilter & Totals

I have spread sheet that contains columns with
departments ,personel, id numbers etc. Under each
department there are calculated totals , i.e. head count,
nationalities etc.
When I use Autofilter and filter by Department these
totals are not displayed, unless I insert a Department
title preceeding the total.
Is it possible for me somehow bind these totals to their
relevant deparments in any other way so that they will
been seen when using the Autofilter? Thereby avoiding the
department title in front of the total in a print out.

You'll need the department name in the row if you want it to be included
in the filtered data. However, you can use conditional formatting to
hide the name. There are instructions here:
