Automate Auto Archive

Mike

We currently turn off auto archive on all folders in the mailbox except for
the Inbox which autoarchives every 14 days to a .pst and also sent items
wich autoarchives every day to the same .pst. We current do this to each
individual when they login. Is there a way to script this so we don't have
to hit every user. If so how.

Thanks Mike

Outlook Profiler looks good, but. It is basically only allowing us to
create an Outlook profile automatically, which we already do with the
Outlook.prf and custom installation wizard. It does NOT give us the ability
to change archiving settings on individual folders in Exchange mailboxes.

The archive settings are stored in hidden messages in the user's Inbox and
other folders if there are different folder archive settings. You'd have to
use CDO 1.21 or Extended MAPI (C++ or Delphi only) or Redemption
(www.dimastr.com/redemption) or something like that which allows access to
the hidden messages collections of folders.

The message class of the hidden archive message is
"IPC.MS.Outlook.AgingProperties". There's a code sample for viewing archive
properties at http://www.cdolive.com/code.htm that would give you an idea of
what needs to be done using CDO 1.21.
