Automate exporting objects using VBA

When I use docmd.databasetransfer to export objects such
as forms or reports to another database, the target file
is locked and never unlock again. Also the database file
that does the exporting starts to act funny. I can't get
into VBA module to edit the event procedure.
Any help?
