Automatic Notification?

Does Entourage have any kind of notfication for incoming mail? As I
understand it you have to click the "send & receive" button to receive
mail.

Other mail applications such as MS Outlook automatically shows your
incoming mail in a transparent fashion on the screen as it arrives. Or
when you open Outlook all your mail is automtically received and it
automaticaly shows up as it is received.

Also, a little "new mail" icon sometimes shows up.

Does Entourage have any of these features?

Does Entourage have any of these features?

Yes, it does. First of all, if you're using Entourage 2004, go to
Entourage>Preferences, Notification tab, and make sure the box next to
"Display an alert on my desktop" is activated. Next, you might want to set
up a schedule. Go to Tools>Schedules and create a new schedule. specify when
and how often you want Entourage to check your inbox, and you should
automatically get an email alert on your desktop whenever Entourage
downloads new emails. Note that the email alert feature is only available in
Entourage 2004; you can have schedules in Entourage v.X, however. If you
have problems creating a schedule, have a look at Entourage's help (keyword
"schedule"), or, if that doesn't answer all your questions, post back.
