Automatic pagination not working in Word

Word is not automatically creating a new page when I get to the bottom of the
first page. If I keep typing, the text disappears but will come back if I
manually insert a page break at the bottom of the page.

I have also tried pasting existing multi-page documents into a new document
and it still limits the document length to one page unless I insert a break.

This just started happening in the last week and seems like a virus. I've
got Service Pack 2, Office updated and current Norton anti-virus.

Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Here's some more strange info: When I try to change the page layout's
margins, I get a message that says something to the effect of "Increasing the
right margin may prevent the second column from displaying properly."

Here's the kicker, I get the message regardless of how big or small I make
the margins. The only way out is to "Cancel" the page setup.

Do I need to reinstall Word?

Thanks. (This is Word 2003 by the way.)

Same solution. Go to Format | Columns and select One, which will activate
the "Equal column width" check box (which is what causes the problem).
