Is there an adjustment I can make that will automatically
type in the rest of the email address in my contacts when
I am sending email?

What version of Outlook?

OL2002 and up have autocomplete - this will auto-fill in the address after
you've typed in three characters - *if* you've previously entered that
address. It doesn't do a lookup to your contacts folder. Previous versions
of Outlook have only autoresolve, meaning that if you type in "joe" and
press Check Names, or go to a diffferent field, or hit send, or press F9, it
will try to find the address for Joe (and all Joes) in your contacts/address
books.

Yes,

You can go to Tools, Option, Preferences Tab, E-Mail Options, Advanced
E-Mail Aptions the check the box next to "Suggest names while completing
To:, cc:, and bcc: fields. This will turn on the autocomplete feature of
Outlook.

Keep in mind that this information is not stored in your contacts folder.
It is stored in an encrypted format in a system file that you cannot open
conventionally.

There is a utility at: www.dcs-imaging.com/products.htm called Owtlook. It
will let you open, edit, add, and delete info. in this file.
