Automatic sending of messages

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Many times a day, message pops up saying "Preparing to send messages" with a scroll bar beneath this message and a counter under that showing the number of messages to be sent...number of messages being sent is always in the hundreds. This pops up automatically...I don't think I do anything to trigger it. I don't know what's happening...doesn't appear that any messages are actually being sent, but its telling its preparing and sending hundreds of messages. Happens several times per hour. What can possible be going on? What do I need to do to fix it? Thanks

Open the Outbox. Are there any messages in there?

Open the Progress Window. Toggle the triangle to see what is being sent. Can
you take a screen shot of account sending the hundreds of messages.

You can post a screenshot link using a service like ImageShack. ImageShack
is an easy-to-use free media hosting service. It can be used to upload
