Automatic updates from Exchange to My Day without Entourage open?

I use Entourage 2008 with an Exchange 2007 server. It works fine.
However, I usually just leave My Day open to see the upcoming calendar
events.

Since Entourage is configured to use Exchange, the calendar I see is
my Exchange calendar.
Now, when someone updates my Exchange calendar (invites being
automatically tentatively accepted, I change my Exchange calendar
through OWA or another device etc.), these updates are not shown in My
Day.
It seems that this only happens when Entourage is open.

Is there any way to get Sync Services or something to sync my Calendar
data from Exchange without Entourage being open?

I have enabled Sync Services for both Calendar and Contacts in
Entourage, and I can see my calendar in iCal. But as with My Day, iCal
is only updated with new Exchange data if Entourage is open. I thought
Sync Services was supposed to happen in the background.

Sorry, that's not possible. My Day reads from the Entourage Database.
The Database can't update unless Entourage syncs with Exchange.

Please be sure to let Microsoft know you'd like to see this feature in
future versions by using the Help --> Send Feedback mechanism in any
Office application.
