Automating the PowerPoint viewer

Is there any way to control the PowerPoint viewer with code? Can I write an
application in VB or C# that will create an instance of the viewer and
control its actions?

The new PowerPoint 2003 viewer does not support an object model, hence it
cannot be automated. The earlier 97 viewer supported a limited object model.
