AutoPreview Issue

R

Ross Payne

In Outlook 2003, each time I create a new mail folder (or archive an
existing one, AutoPreview is enabled. I prefer not to use that feature. Is
there a way to prevent it going on by default? Thanks,

Are you using IMAP? It's on imap folders by default.

Go to views, arrange by, current view, define... and select the view byname,
not "<current view>" and modify it to remove autopreview.

No IMAP. I still can't get newly created folders to come up without
autopreview, unless I modify them when they are first created (a step I'd
like to skip). Any other ideas? Thanks.

What view is used on the folder?

Do you have any/many custom views? if not start outlook using the cleanviews
switch and modifiy the default folder view (should be Messages)

at start menu, run, type
outlook.exe /cleanviews
