autosum no longer works

I upgraded Windows XP to Service Pack 2.
Since then the autosum feature no longer works.
Example -
=SUM(E6,G6,K6,M6,O6)

What is "no longer works"?

Do you get errors? Nothing? Wrong answer?

Perhaps the cell values are text?

Copy an empty cell formatted as General then select your range of cells and
Paste Special>Add>OK>Esc.

Perhaps the values in those cells are text?
