autotext date?

Lorena

I’m using Office & WIndows XP. Whenever I type “td†I get an 06/06/04 or
whatever today's date is. It happens everywhere, in word, excel, internet,
etc. I don't see it on auto text, but this option is turned on somewhere.
Any advise on where I can turn this feature off?

You also see it when you are using your web browser??

I'd say you are seeing AutoCorrect, rather than AutoText. AutoCorrect
entries are shared amongst the Office applications. In either Word or
Excel go to Tools/AutoCorrect Options and see if you find the entry
listed there.

Also, AutoText require at least four characters before the
AutoComplete tip displays and then you need to press Enter or Tab to
complete the entry. AutoCorrect entries only require one character and
it will automatically correct without any additional keystrokes.
