AutoUpdate doesn't list 12.0.1 update

I performed the 12.0.1 update manually using the .dmg I downloaded. In
addition to not updating the version of Entourage, the update does not
appear when I click "View Installed Updates" in the AutoUpdate app.

I'm not sure whether this is designed behavior (since I didn't use
AutoUpdate to get the update) but it seems sort of broken that this list
would not include an update regardless of the manner of installation.

Same here...even more troubling to me is that if you check the about in each of the apps, all but Entourage says 12.0.1 Entourage still states 12.0.0 Did it actually update??? Maybe this is why it seems to not have fixed anything with syncing!

Not sure if this should be called a bug or a design feature. :)

Currently, the updater is not available via MAU.

Sounds like you had a bad install. I would run the
Office2008-1201UpdateEN.dmg again and may it will update your Entourage
to 12.0.1 like it did for the rest of us.

Be sure you do not have Entourage running when you start the installer.

There's a very detailed explanation for this in the latest entry of the blog
to which Diane referred in an earlier post.

I use one of my systems as a guinea pig for installations. Interestingly,
after wiping out Office 2008 per the procedure in the blog and, then,
reinstalling it; applying the update to AutoUpdate; and manually updating
the suite to 12.0.1, everything appears fine. All the version numbers of
each of the Office 2008 programs indicate 12.0.1. However, there's still no
evidence in AutoUpdate's "View Installed Updates" that the updates are
installed.

I'll see if I can get an explanation for this.

It is no different than the Apple Software Update. Under OSX if you
have the Software Update utility install the update, it logs the update.

Go to System Preferences/Software Update and click on Installed Updates
and this is a listing of items installed via the Software Updater.

On the other hand if decided to pass on using the Software Update and
downloaded and run one of the Combo updates, the update will not be
displayed list of updates installed by the Software Updater.

The same thing has happened with the Office2008-1201UpdateEN.dmg
update. I suspect the new and improved AutoUpdate 2.1.1 is broken
and was never really tested.

What I would like to do if find and modify the text file that shows the
installed updates in the Microsoft AutoUpdate when you click on View
Installed Updates
