Average of a series

Thank you but one problem has occured.

if I use the following formula
=SUM(E1:E5)/COUNTIF(E1:E5,"<>0")

All now works well except if I have 5, 0 cells in a row.

EG

52
0
100
0
0
0
0
0
12
540

Any tips. It really has me frustrated.
