AVI problem/question...

K

Karina Wright

I am putting some AVIs in my presentation...everything works...transitions
are great, timing is great, movies play...everything except:

The AVI plays once through and ends on the last frame (as it should).
However, as the next slide kicks in, the AVI goes back to the first frame
(doesn't start the movie over, just reverts the slide to the starting
condition). I really want to have the last frame be the last thing seen, as
the first frame kind of takes away the impact of the movie. I have played
with all the settings and can't seem to make anything change this behavior.

Any thoughts would be welcome.

thanx/k

If using PPT 2002-2003 use an exit animation to have the movie fade out (or
other animation) prior to the slide transition. OR add black to the front of
the movie (in a video editing app) so when it kicks back to the first frame
it is a non-descript black.

I would create a bitmap screen grab of the last frame and then apply that as a static image over top of your video window after the video ends. That should prevent the viewer from seeing whatever the video does below it. (Never tried it, but I think this might be a solution.) Good luck.

I was just getting ready to post suggestions when I realized others have
already posted what I would have!

I do have one additional thing to try, though. Right-click the movie,
choose Edit Movie Object, and make sure that "rewind when done playing"
is not selected.
