avoid storing Input mask characters

I have a Credit Card filed with an input mask that puts dashes between each
set of four numbers. I set the wizard to not store the dashes in the table.
No matter what I do, it sotes the CC Numbers with dashes. I don't wnat it
to. How?

Also, I need to pass the CC Numbers w/o dashes to a function for
validation...I passes the number with the dashes. How do I get rid of them,
but still have the input mask?

I hate input masks and never use them. I'd say get rid of them and format
the output the way you want to see it.
