Avoiding file name truncating for attachements

I send and receive a lot of files at work. We have a somewhat complex
file naming system to keep them all straight and control versioning,
however Entourage's habit of truncating long attachment names has
become a bit of an issue. Is their a work around that will allow the
original file name to be maintained when it's attached?

Entourage v.X used to do that. Entourage 2004 doesn't (seem to) do that. So
the workaround would be to upgrade :)
