background music / changing index.htm

I am a bit of a newbie with Frontpage and i have been
trying a couple of things. One of to use background
music. I have found some small .wav files on the internet
and have successfully used these as background but
the .wav files that i found are not really suitable. I
found some MP3 that was quite good and then downloaded a
mp3 to .wav converter. Unfortunately even after
conversion FrontPage could not see the file. Any
suggestions?
The other problem that I have is that I want to change
the home page (index.htm). I created a new alternate home
page and I have decided that I want to use this page as
my home page. How do I change the home page, can I just
rename both pages? FP suggests that I will get broken
links if I try this. Can I just redesignate a particular
page to be the index?
Thanks

Don't really know about the .wav file, but you can't
change the index page for your website. Generally, when
somebody types in www.yoursite.com, the webserver will
try and serve them either index.htm or index.html or
anything by the way of index.* If that file doesn't
exist, they will either get a 404 error or be given your
site's directory listing.

On the .wav file when you insert the audio do you have "All Audio Files" selected in the File Types

If you do and are still unable to insert the.wav file you may need to check your compatibility. Netscape does not support the BG sound

Depending on the version of FP you can change your compatibility

Go to Tools > Page Options > Compatibilit
o
Tools > Compatibilit

Change the Browsers to custom

/////////////////////

On the index issue, all you have to do is rename your file. On your new page (The one you wish to be your home page), just right click it and select rename. Rename it exactly as your current home page (index.htm, .html

FrontPage will prompt you to verify you want to overwrite the existing file, choose yes. You should not have to update any links as long as you rename it the same as your old home page
