Backup Address Book

I need to reinstall Outlook due to software problems. I
would like to backup the address book. Knowledgebase
Article 287070 teaches this process, however when I did a
search of My Computer, I was unable to find a single
occurence of a *.pab file. How do I proceed if I am
unable to find this file?

Outlook hasn't used a PAB for years. I doubt you were
either.
The file you need to back up is your Personal Folders
file (*.pst) It's where all the mail, calendar, contacts
etc are stored. Outlook does not use a separate Address
Book file.

You need to back up the whole outlook data file at

C:/docs and settings/user/local/application
data/microsoft/outlook in there you will see the outlook
data file .pst. Save that and then open it when you have
done what you have to do. It will be the entire Outlook
file and all emails, calender, notes, contatcs etc. If
you have a built a new outlook file you can open the save
pst file using file->open->outlook data file and them
simply drag and drop your contatcs from the old file into
the new one. Did this last night without any problems
