Backup Error/Problems

So I have Office 2004 on my work and personal machines. I use Entourage
for my work e-mail account. Here's the weird thing.

I like to backup my Entourage e-mails onto my home powerbook. I drag
the Microsoft User Data folder from my work ibook and into the
User/Documents folder of my powerbook, or the Office 2004 Identities
folder into the appropriate place on my powerbook. For some reason,
this no longer works.

If I do this, whenever I open Entourage, it tells me there's a problem
with the database and I need to rebuild it. Only if I use the Database
Utility, it gives me an error message after I click the button to have
it rebuild. I can't get past the error message and thus, can't rebuild
it and can't get Entourage to open. Also, when this happens, if I open
word, it give me an error message about a database error but still runs
fine after the error message comes up.

I'd really like to be able to find a way to synch entourage from my
ibook to my powerbook. Why won't this work anymore? Anybody have any
ideas or suggestions? Any input would be much appreciated.
