bad attachment

Hi, I have attached an mpeg2 [.m2v] to an email that Entourage had
trouble encoding, resulting in a freeze. Now on startup, Entourage
freezes immediately before I can delete the outgoing message with the
bad attachment. The "compact database utility" is also freezing[!] as
it nears the end of the process. Also, my Inbox and Junk folders seem
to have flipped identities. Do i need to do an entire rebuild, and
what if THAT utility freezes?

I had a bad email message from a commercial firm that would lock up and
freeze my Entourage. I finally just selected (but did not click) and
used the menu Delete (trash can) to deleter the bad message. Try that
before doing anything else

Thanks...I read elsewhere to start up with "send/receive" off by
holding shift at start-up. This at least let me trash the attachment
and the email. Nifty little trick. Thanks for the response.
