Hi Barry

2 years of emails were lost and the only message I had
was "Rebuild Error -40, cant read data". I had tried
everything including hard drive rebuilds and was firmly
convinced all my mail lost. I bought the software package
second hand online with an older Mac so didnt even have a
dealer I could call. Then I read your suggestion to PR
called "database rebuild?" on Jan 26 2004.

A quick upgrade to 10.1.5 and a delete of the preferences
and I have my emails back.

You are just brilliant and I think you should bottle your
sweat and sell it as perfume!

Seriously, I'm glad my advice helped. 'Thank You's from the users are all
the payment we get for the advice on these newsgroups and everyone likes to
