Best practice when working with multiple projects

Hi All,

I wonder if there is a fool-proof way to handle multiple projects (with a
responsible person for each file) in a consolidated file? Or to put it the
other way around: do you have any tips of what NOT to do, or things to be on
alert for?

All suggestions are most welcome!

Cheers
Lars

Others here have had more experience than I with the Client/Server
version, so I'll let them comment on that if they want to. My
experience with Resource Sharing using Project Standard has been
disastrous. Most of the clients I've had who used it for very long had
major stability problems. The worst I ever saw was a weird looking
cursor moving across, left to right, a table (Gantt was showing),
moving right through the cells. Most amazing part was, neither I nor
the other person in my office were anywhere near the keyboard or the
mouse! It was internally generated. It happened twice, the second time
a few minutes after the first. I've never seen any computer anywhere do
anything like that (in almost 40 years of working with them)! I would
have doubted my own eyes if there hadn't been another person present at
the time.
I've always wanted to be able to test and see if the Resource Pool
becomes unstable if a strict set of protocols were followed for adding
and removing projects and tasks from the Resource Pool.
Hope this helps in your world.
