Best video format for PP2003

I would be very interested in members' view who use
different video formats of PP.

MPEG2 or Windows media Player9 or any other popular format?
I am looking for the best resolution, quick start, smooth
running etc.

Looking forward to hearing your experiences.

I am not an expert on movie formats, but what you plan to do with the
presentation makes a difference. For instance, is there any chance someone
will need to watch/present the show on a 385 running Win 95? Will it be
used for just yourself on your SOTA laptop?

My understanding is that the better formats for quality are not universally
distributed formats. So, if I recall the stuff I've read correctly, AVI or
WMA is the best for a distributed show, even though the quality is poor.
Otherwise, if quality is more important than portability and backwards
compatibility, then run Full DVD quality in a MPEG-2

Hopefully, someone with more experience than I will chime in. If they
disagree, I vote for their answer.

Thank you for your reply.
I shall be sole user and it will be put on my laptop and
projected.

Quality is important and speed of startup as the slides
are advanced.

Any other suggestions out there?

In my experience, Windows Media files with codec 8 play well in PowerPoint
on PCs. Also, I recommend that you update Video Card driver, DirectX to the
latest version for the best performance.

when u download a movie it's format is avi but to put it on a dvd disc u ave to change the format from avi to mpeg do u know how to do this can u help me please i've been tryin to do this for months but not suceeded yet thanks
