Best way to import data from word.

Hi,

I need to build a word doc with fields for user input. The filled docs must
then be imported into my corporate db.

What do you suggest to use for the word document? Bookmarks, form fields or
text controls?

I'm able to import from bookmarks and from form fields but I don't know how
to refer to the textboxes and comboboxes in a Document from Access VBA.
Which collection contains those controls?

I like form fields, but they works only when the document is protected and I
need to be able also to modify some word paragraphs as needed...

Thank you for your help

G'day "Diego Lotti" <[email protected]>,

textboxes and comboboxes are just form fields of a given type
normally. If they are activex controls, I think you get at them via
Shapes of the right Type.

With properly structured FORMS of _most_ types, the best way to import
data from free form text is to use continuous section breaks to mark
off an unprotected area for freeform text entry, and then id these
areas in your macro through their section number.
