Blasted sync window

In Entourage for OSX43

These blasted synchronizing windows keep popping up.
I tried turning announcements off, the Option+booting entourage to rebuild
the database.

It's still going on. I just want the snychronizing to run in the background.

I think, though am not sure whether Exchange makes a difference, that that
is the Progress window. If you simply close it (hit the red button), then
syncing messages should instead show up in the status bar at bottom left.
Thanks, Daiya, but it does not keep the window from coming back on screen
every time it syncs.

When it comes up, hit command-7, if I'm understanding what you're seeing
correctly, and I may not be.

Nope, Apple+7, I believe, but not sure, I tried, brings up the Snyc Progress
Window. That's what I want to keep hidden from ever appearing.

If you find a way I would appreciate it as this window pops up continuously
all day long.

'Apple-7' is the same as 'Command-7' - 'Command' is Apple's own name for
that key (there used to be a time when the apple symbol did not appear on
it, just the '4 leaf clover' sign.

Cmd-7 should toggle the display of the progress window. Checking just now,
it seems to display it, but not hide it any more - not sure when that change
took place.

There have been occasional reports of the window getting persistent, and of
it staying forward (or coming forward) with every mail check. Various
updates appeared to have fixed the problem, but not, apparently, for you.

First, check that you have updated office as far as it can go. Use the
'Check for Updates' command under the 'Help' menu.

Then, close all windows except the main mail browser window (including the
progress window) and then quit Entourage.

When you restart Entourage, the window 'should' remember it's state and stay
'off' until you carry out a manual mail check (In which case it should pop
up for the duration of the mail check and then hide itself again) or until
you deliberately open the window again with cmd-7 or by choosing from the
window menu
