Blocking Junk E-Mail

I am receiving a bunch (100 per day) junk e-mails. I've
learned out to create a rule to delete this
automatically, but I would really like to block them so
the sender will know I didn't get it and will take me off
his/her mailing list.

How can I block certain e-mails? Thanks for your help.
