Bluetooth & Entourage??

K

Kathy Cardoza

I am thinking of getting a Bluetooth capable cell phone and was wondering if
I will be able to sync it with my Entourage calendar and contacts? I see you
can do this with the Address Book and iCal programs via iSync.....but I only
use Entourage.

The Missing Sync ( http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_palmos.php) is an
excellent replacement for the stodgy PalmOne HotSync Manager and it supports
bluetooth. You would also need the Entourage Sync conduit from the Office X
or Office 2004 Additional Tools folder (you must use the right version of
the Entourage conduit).

Thanks, Alan! I checked it out and it seems to be just what I need. :)

I appreciate the suggestion.

Are you sure about that, Alan? The Missing Sync is great (I use it myself
with my Clié), and it supports Bluetooth connection, sure, but it's still
for syncing to devices running the Palm OS (4.0 or higher), not for cell
phones. There's a complete list of devices it supports on its website. The
link is at the bottom of the web page URL you gave.

I'd be very dubious if any cell phone except a Treo 650 (combined Palm
handheld plus phone) is running the Palm OS. Are any of those other devices
on that page phones? I'm not familiar with all of them.

Kathy said she wanted to buy a cell phone. Maybe she's even gone and bought
one now at your advice.

The only way that I know that she'd be able to sync a regular Bluetooth
phone to Entourage would be via my Sync Entourage-Address Book and Sync
Entourage-iCal shareware scripts and iSync.

Oops! You are, of course, right. Missing Sync will only sync cell phones
that run the Palm OS. I was specifically thinking about the Treo 650. My
apologies if I misled anyone into thinking Missing Sync will sync any
bluetooth phone.

These Palm OS based phones are supported by Missing Sync.

The Treo phones from PalmOne are supported as well.

Hello Kathy, I own a Sony Ericsson T610 and also run a program called
MobileSync from www.sailing.com

It works flawlessly, but check on their site for compatibility issues and
cell phones.

\Bluetooth rules!
