Body of email message not showing up on relplies

When a user replies to a client that is using Entourage they do not see the
body of the message on the Entorange client. I’m able to log into Outlook Web
Access and the message including the body is there and all is good.

This problem is caused by a defect introduced in the latest Exchange server
update (KB911829). People using OWA premium who reply or forward messages
are inadvertently sending defective email messages that only Entourage fails
to display by not error handling for defective HTML code. Ideally the
Exchange update should be removed (unless you have hordes of Vista users
which was a principal reason for the Exchange update).

Microsoft needs to fix the Exchange server update and also update the
Entourage browser to prevent this problem in the future.

Bill,
Is there a work around to the KB911829. One of our admins cleared out
all the Uninstalls to get some some space on the C; drive and I can't
get an uninstall for it

I have determined that if the subject of a message includes an "*" or "()"
that the replied-to message text sent back by an OWA Premium user will
appear properly in Entourage.

From the look of the generated HTML code by OWA Premium, it appears that
Exchange is failing when it attempts to generate the <base href="..."> code
where ... should be the name of the file containing the original message
text. The file name appears to be a name formed using the "subject text"
of the original message.

Example:

Works:

<BASE =
href=3Dhttps://synergy.txstate.edu/exchange/wb1007/Drafts/RE:%20What%20is=
%20the%20subject%20has%20an%20*%20in%20the%20middle_x003F_.EML/1_text.htm=

versus

Does not:

BASE =
href=3DHEAD>

Something is going awry when OWA Premium is creating the <BASE> code.

Entourage users can avoid the blank email problem by including an asterisk
in any email message that they send out. Not very elegant but I believe it
will prevent the blank message problem in regards to replies coming back
from OWA Premium users.
