body text numbering in same sequence as its heading

I want to create a document in Word 2007 which has numbered headings followed by numbered body text paragraphs whose numbering sequence is linked to its heading e.g.

1 First heading

1.1 bodytext aaaaaaaa

1.2 bodytext bbbbbbbb

2 Second heading

2.1 bodytext cccccc

2.2 bodytext ddddddd


and then be able to manipulate the headings in Outline.

I have read several very complicated articles on this but have got nowhere. Obviously the body text has to be linked somehow to its parent header. I guess I need to set either Define multilevel list or Define new list style.

A simple explanation would be much appreciated.
