borders not visible in design mode, but there in slideshow

I have a user that's PP will not display the background/template when editing the document, but in slide show mode it shows it. On my system it shows it properly in editing mode. Both are running PP2003 but I am on Windows XP and he's on Windows 2000, that's the only difference, why would this be happening?

Thanks

Only thing I can think of is a display/video driver issue. Try changing hardware acceleration as described at http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00129.htm

If that doesn't do the trick, try updating video drivers.

Oh, wait. Also try having the user go to Help/Check for Updates and install the critical patch.

hardware acceleration worked - although not really a solution (should be
able to have it all the way up) it's better than the alternatives (for an
administrator :))

Thanks!
