In word 2003, when i try to use the "Gold Star" page border, 19th in list of
@ART' options, the bottom line doesn't show in Print Preview and prints a a
row of small dots. This only happens with this item, other borders are OK.

Hi Brymor,

What is the build (update) level you have in Word 2003.
I wasn't able to reproduce the problem with Office 2003 SP2.

What printer driver, settings are you using?

Most printers have some amount of nonprintable area along each
side of the page. If you're printing to an inkjet printer, then
the likely problem is that the border is too close to the bottom
edge of the page and is partly in the nonprintable area. Click
on Format | Borders and Shading | Options, and either increase
the "from edge" measurement or decrease the "from text"
measurement until the border prints.

Dear Bob,
Many thanks for your prompt response. To make my problem clearer, I have
corrected my original post text, below. In answere to your ? re updates,
(Build Level), I'm afraid I cannot answer that one, but I have updated fairly
regularly. Also, the printer driver settings would appear to be ok, as when I
choose other borders in the range they all print OK.
Kind regards,
Brymor.

Hi Brymor,

Hmmm, so if you switch from one Star Art Border to another
then print everything is okay, but if you then switch back
it gives just the dots and this happens in a new blank document
as well?

You've checked the printer settings as suggested in the other
post to be sure it's not just a 'from text' vs a 'from page edge'
issue in printing?

If you use File=>Print and switch to another printer choice then
back does it still cause the problem?

If so, then see if these steps make a difference.
1. close Word
2. Use start search to find and delete all files found with
~$*.*;*.tmp
3. Restart Word in safe mode (hold ctrl key while starting Word).

If the problem is still there then you may want to to a repair
reinstall from the Help menu in Word.

The 'build level' is that string of numbers in 'Help=>About'
for the Word version :)

Hi Bob,
Problem solved !! I have re-tried the "from bottom" setting again
and it had immediate effect. Why it didn't work before is beyond me, but all
seems ok now.
Many thanks to you for your patience, also others who contributed.
Kind regards,
Brymor.
