Hello,

If I knew what a "box and whisker" diagram was I would try to answer your
question.

However, if you discover that it is not possible and you (or anyone else
reading this message) think that it's important that PowerPoint provide
this kind of functionality, don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN
WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

Hi "mturus" and John,

seems to be a very special sort of statistics evaluation, see this webpage:
http://regentsprep.org/Regents/math/data/boxwhisk.htm

I'd suggest to do the necessary calculations in Excel, as PowerPoint has no
statistics formulas. Then make a diagram with the relevant dots either in
excel or in PowerPoint/Graph and add the box manually.

Kind regards,
Ute

Believe it or not, I have created one by hand by making a number line (line,
and use the drawing tool to create the tic marks.). For the box, use the
rectangle. Put a slash through the box where Q2 is on the number line.
Connect the whiskers and good to go. Of course, excel or another graph
program will be much easier. The one by hand was very tedious!

This is good to know. I thought it might have something
to do with cats...

LOL,
