Broken image path ending [#BINARY#]?

Hi all, could somebody explain what the #BINARY# term means? The image field on the db results page is showing a 'broken image icon' with the path ending with [#BINARY#] instead of the required image filename. I just cannot get a picture to display in the results! Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
