Entourage is sending a cancellation message when I remove an invitee to a
meeting that I've saved previously in which I have NOT sent any invitations
(Send Now) out yet. This appears to be a bug since why send a cancellation
when no invitations have been sent.
How do you have an "invitee" whom you have not invited?
This feature is designed to work as a combined calendar+email feature: the
only way to get an "invitee" listed is to click Invite and enter a (name+)
email address, or contact with an email address. Then it's quite clear
you're supposed to click Send or Send Later. If you simply Save, it';s like
a Draft message - and you'll note there's no way to get Attendee status,
since there's no attendees because no one has been invited. I suppose that
if you already have some bona fide invited attendees and "save" another
without sending, maybe s/he gets added? Shouldn't be added to attendees,
though.
"Cancel Invitations" means just that: send out emails to attendees
canceling. What you should be able to do with "saved recipients" of draft
messages to whom you haven't invited yet is select them, and click "Remove".
But when you re-save, _that_ also sends out a Cancel Invitation email! I
agree that that is a bad bug.
But the real problem is that you're using the feature in a way that was not
intended: do not add a recipient if you don't invite him by email. Do not
Save without sending. Perhaps Entourage shouldn't let you do so if it's not
going to let you Remove the recipient silently.
