Bug in Custom Recurring Events?

R

Rick Snider

I seem to have a problem setting up custom recurring events that involve the
"last" day of a period. Once I setup the event to recur on, say, the last
day of every 1 month(s), the event changes to a daily recurring event
beginning on the first day it was set to start.

If you re-edit the event, the definition shows it to be a daily recurring
event, not monthly as originally defined.

Has anyone else seen this?

Yes. It's a real live bug and has been reported and acknowledged. There's a
workaround, as I recall: choose the first occurrence to be in a month that
has 31 days (put it back in the past if you need to), and set the recurrence
pattern to be the 31st of every month (or every 2 months, etc.). You'll get
an alert explaining that it will use the last day of months shorter than 31
days. And that's what it will do.
