I use Word Viewer 97 to deliver teaching material - hypertexted
multi-documents (in word format) - and have been evaluating the Word Viewer
2003 as a newer replacement. There are two key differences between the two
Viewers:
(1) Viewer 97 allows hypertext to be followed by a click while the
Viewer 2003 requires a Control Click (as does Word 2003). For my usage this
is a significant nuance (which I can see no way to change) but this is
probably an “intended featureâ€.
(2) Viewer 97 follows hypertext links between word documents and opens
them while the Viewer 2003 causes the destination document to be opened in
Word (not the Viewer). It is hard to see this being an “intended featureâ€,
it looks very much like a bug (and is useless for my application).
