I have a database that queries for available rooms, this query shows the room
name which is the primary key, and other fields displaying information about
the room. I would like to add another table with rates and calculate the
total rate, however am having problems doing this if the stay covers two rate
periods.
My rate table consists of Rate_ID, Rate_Start_Date, Room, Rate
For clarification here is a quick example:
Availability query shows room A available for 7/10/06 to 7/13/06, 3 nights.
Rate Table:
Rate ID Rate_Start_Date Room Rate
1 01/01/06 A $100.00
2 07/12/06 A $150.00
Total should be $350.00 (two nights @ $100.00 and one @ $150.00.)
