Calendar colaboration without an exchange server

Before I started using Entourage I used office 2000 as did my business
partner. To keep our calendars together we simply used the invite
button in a new diary event and the invite went over dial-up and
seemlessly interacted with the other's calendar. This has never worked
since I have had entrouage (partner still using PC) and I was hoping
that this latest, much trailed upgrade would make it so. I've just
installed it and it appears it hasn't. Have I missed something, either
in the upgrade or ortherwise?

No, you didn't miss anything. The problem is that Outlook for Windows uses a
non-standard type of invitation, which isn't handled by Entourage (whose
invitations conform to the correct RFC protocols).

About all you can do is badger the WinOutlook folks to start conforming to
protocols instead of doing their own thing.
