Calendar does not take future events

I enter an event for a date in the future outside the current month and it puts it in the current month on the same numbered day. I cannot span a date outside the current month, and when I try to schedule an event say, 6 months in advance, I get a message that it is an event in the past and puts it on th same number day in the current month.
Anyone lese experiencing this?
