Calendar-how do I keep a different background colour 4 each month

In process of doing a calendar for 2006. I want a different background color
for each month, but everytime I change a color, it changes the background for
every month. This is the first time I've used Publisher, but I simply can't
find how to stabilise the page. Any tips would be great.

Ungroup the objects, manually re-fill rather than using the color schemes. Time
consuming but it works.
