Calendar Issues in Entourage 2004

I have two problems.

When I enter a calendar event at work on my pc (exchange mail) and view
it on my mac at home, I always get a message that the time of the event
and the computer time don't match and have been adjusted even though I
have checked the settings and they are correct.

Also, when I enter the subject data for the event on the pc, my mac
will change it and rename the subjects to "Calendar Event" and will
synch that to the exchange server.
Has anyone encountered this?

Thanks.

Drag one of these events to the desktop, and open it in a text editor such
as BBEdit. This will allow you to view the source of the invitation, and you
should be able to determine the time zone it is set to. Then, you can check
in the International pane of the System preferences to see what time zone is
set there.

I have checked the event and the time zone are different, however I
have checked both my laptop (pc) and desktop (mac) and they are set to
the correct time zone. For some reason, my mac keeps thinking that all
events are set in the eastern time zone while I am in central and it
adjusts it and then changes the event name in the process.

Is this an exchange account? Is the server in Eastern timezone?

Another user has reported similar effects when the users are in the UK and
the server is in PDT. It looks like the server adjusts the timezone of the
incoming event, before sending it out again. If so, it's an Exchange issue
rather than a Entourage one :(

Well yes. We currently contract with mi8.com to host our mail and I
believe that they are located in New York. If it is that is the
problem, then how come all the events that come through my laptop
(running Windows XP) look fine? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. If the server is in fact, in another time
zone, what can I do? You state it is an Exchange problem, but I'm a
novice, and don't know what that is.

Thanks.

When you set up the profile, did you put in pop and smtp settings (ie,
pop.austin.rr.com and smtp.austin.rr.com) or did you enter an IP
address like 63.96.180.12? Since mine e-mail is form work it is an
exchange setting with another company hosting all our e-mail services.
I spoke with the company that is hosting our e-mail and they are
looking into this problem.

Hi

Sorry to butt in, but I have exactly the same issue. If I drag the event as
you suggest it shows the source as EST (where my exchange server is), but
then all calendar invitations from my GMT colleagues appear this way,
presumably because the exchange server is always EST. I am GMT, and the
people sending me invites are GMT, and all our international settings are
set to GMT.

If I view the appointment on a PC running Outlook, it shows as GMT, with the
correct information, and does not mention any timezone issue. If Outlook is
clever enough to work that out, why not Entourage?!
