Is there any way to sync my calendar that I have in entourage on my mac to
that of my laptop so that I have a definitive set of diary events?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Better tell everyone your edition of Entourage and the operating systems on
your Mac and your laptop.

Yep, sorry.

I'm using osX 10.3.4 on both Mac G4 and powerbook G4.

I'm also using 10.1.1 of Entourage.

Thanks. Alan

Three possibilities:

1) Regularly copy and replace the whole identity, here:

~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office X Identities/Main Identity/

[or whatever you might have renamed your main identity to], to the same
location in the other computer, replacing. ~/ means your user folder (home)
in OS X.

This will give you an identical replica in each computer of the entire
database : calendar, address book, email messages, accounts, everything. So
as you finish work on one computer (come hoe, or about to leave for work)
copy and replace the identity you've just been working on to the other
computer. This is easiest and fastest.

2) If there's some reason why you don't want do this, but sync only calendar
events, you could get my Export-Import Entourage X script package., and use
the Calendar Export and Calendar Import scripts. It's designed more for
exporting and importing all events rather than regular syncing, but read the
"Synchronizing.rtf" document to see how to do it. Because you'd be doing
only calendar events, it would be a lot simpler than first appears. Still,
something of a bother.

Alternatively, and much, much simpler, since you're in Panther, if you have
..Mac, you could get my Sync Entourage-iCal script for each computer. You
could run the script to sync to iCal, run iSync to .Mac, then on the other
computer run iSync and then run the script to sync iCal to Entourage. After
the initial setup run, it works very fast and easily. You'd get a perfect
sync.

3) Upgrade to Office 2004. Entourage 2004 now includes Projects which can be
shared between users. You could have a project on any server, including an
iDisk, and share and access your calendar from both computers.
