Calendar shows all events as folders with .eml extensions

I have one user in my company where every calendar event is listed as a folder under her Exchange calendar:

That's just a partial list... the whole thing is many pages long.

To fix, I've upgraded to 12.1.1, and rebuilt the database.

What's going on here?

to be honest, I've no idea - not seen anything like that before. Since a
rebuild fixed things, I suspect it was some corruption in the database
leading to Entourage attempting to apply an incorrect 'record type'
mapping to calendar events.
