Calendar time off

I have my appointments in Entourage 2008 showing half an hour later than the time I have set. If, for instance, I set the time as 12:30, the calendar shows 13:00 but opening the appointment shows the correct time. Am I doing something wrong?.

Regards.

I think I have found the problem and the solution to the bug I indicated. The problem resides in the way Entourage 2008 handles the time zones for Caracas (Venezuela) and La Paz (Bolivia) - the latter being where I live. In December of last year, Venezuela changed the time zone from GMT -4 to GMT -4:30 whereas Bolivia remained at GMT -4 but Entourage still groups Venezuela and Bolivia as being the same time zone and having a time of GMT -4:30. Leopard correctly detects the difference between Venezuela and Bolivia but Entourage doesn't. This all means that when I set an appointment in Entourage, the time is taken as being "Venezuela/Bolivia at GMT-4:30" but Leopard has the correct timing at GMT-4 thus Entourage thinks I am currently located in a different location to that of the appointment and the confusion, and half hour difference arises.

Does it make sense?. how can it be solved?.

Does Microsoft check this forum for this sort of issues or who should I report it to?.

Regards.

I reported this just recently. Other than selecting another city in System
Preferences that has the same time as you, I don't know of a way to fix.

I am not on my mac at the moment but I will check tomorrow to see if I can set Entourage to San Juan or Santo Domingo which are in the same time zone as we are and do not have DST adjustments.

Only way to fix this issue is with a patch (creating the time zone for Bolivia and others at GMT-4) which, I hope, will be released in the not too distant future.

Just tested it, doesn't work. There is no time zone for San Juan and Santo Domingo thus the nearest time zone is "Atlantic Time (Canada)" but , they, unlike us (and PR and Dom Rep) apply DST and thus come end of April, the times are off by one hour.

Thank you for the tip and I'll have a look at the program you suggest, however, I sincerely hope that the problem is rectified since we are talking about a bug in the program.

Regards.

I have found an interim solution to the time zones bug but it also points to another bug. I have set my MAC on Puerto Rico time and Entourage in Santiago (Chile) time. Entourage does not recognise that Santiago has DST too and thus works with correct times. There's another fix due for the MS Office for MAC team...!

Soon I'll start charging!.
