calendar won't print

J

Just installed Office 2008 (upgrade from 2004). I have an Intel iMac, with all latest updates, OS 10.5.1. I go to print the calendar and nothing prints. Printer don't open up. Nothing shows in the preview window. It's Brother Printer HL-5170DN..eveything else prints from Office 2008, just no calendar.

What do you think the problem may be?

My specs match yours except for the printer it works OK for me.

Can you try a different printer?

I did. Nothing shows up in print pre view nor does the printer open up. Really, really strange. Also NOW, I use my Leopard Server Admin tools on the same machine and they won't launch at all, and I was using it right up to the upgrade to Office 2008? I quit it to install and now can't use the Leopard Server Tools. I rbooted. repaied perms. Diskwarriored...nothing works to solve these two issues.

There have been a lot of print problems with Leopard.

The only workaround we're aware of at this point is to change the printer
resolution to something lower, like 600dpi, from the print dialog.

I also have a Mac Intel. Am using OSX 10.4.11. The only thing that Entourage 2004 prints are email messages. Nothing else will print. I have a Brother MFC 8420 and I have a HP Photosmart C7280. Entourage will not print ANYTHING except emails.

Try printing in a new User to eliminate problems in your User's folder.

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. Test Office there.

Does anyone know why the daily calendar will not preview anything or print for that matter in office 2008? Weekly, no problem ....

Could you describe more about your issue? Daily calendar should print or
preview without problem. Screenshot and print preview would be also
helpful.

Thanks
Mu

I am having the same exact problem as the original poster, but I'm using a Lexmark E450 printer. Calendards won't print, but messages will.

I have been having the same issues with printing Entourage 2004 (11.4.0). I am using a Mac G4, OS 10.4.11. I tried creating a new user and I was able to print then. How do I fix my current (main) user to allow me to print?

Could be a corrupt preference. See this page for testing your User's folder.

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/troubleshoot/test_user.html>

I would run Repair Permissions and run the latest Apple combo as well.

Combo updaters will install on the same version as they¹re applying‹no need
to roll back or do a clean install.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I'm using Entourage 2008 12.0.1 w/
OS 10.4.11.

I can ONLY print emails. No preview shows in the print dialogue when
trying to print the calendar, notes, contacts, etc.

Switching to a test user I can print everything. I've repaired
permissions. What do i do next? This is really import to fix.
Thanks.

My Entourage 08 Calendars would not print. I have a iMac 24 running OS 10.4.11 with Office X and recently Office:Mac 2008 and the possibility of some older pieces of Office prior of OS X.

The problem is a conflict between some old pieces of Office X and the new Entourage 08 in your own account.

A crude but effective fix I found follows:
* ******Only make these changes within your own account or another corrupted account.***********

1. Open Entourage and under File/Export/ Archive all of the email, calendar events, etc. you need to preserve to a safe temporary file on your desktop.
2. I also saved my Custom Dictionary from "my account"/ Preferences / Microsoft/ Office 2008 / Custom Dictionary in the safe file.

3. If you still have the same files in an older version of Office X you want to preserve, you may desire to save those the same way.

4. Next go through your account only, and trash all folders and their files that have the name Microsoft, Office, or Entourage in the folder or file name and empty the trash. All of these file you have trashed will be replaced with new empty replacements with all your preference and data gone when you restart later.
Do not delete your document files that you have named and that end in .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .pps, etc.

Restart your computer and replace the files you saved such as Custom Dictionary and start Entourage and Import the archive file you save earlier, and you should be in good shape again and able to print the calendars.

Good Luck and ask Microsoft why they don't debug their stuff.

CAUTION*******CAUTION ******** Caution
Since posting the "fix", I realized that I have screwed up my old Excel spreadsheets with Visual Basic Modules.
They keep coming up with can't compile errors.

Don't use the below "Fix" if you have Excel Spreadsheets that you have added your own Basic modules.

Sorry for the bad info.
