Calender

Hi,

Please forgive me before I start!!

I have a user who is using Tracking Gant. There is a column called start -
with dates in. When he clicks on the toggle a calender appears, from there
he tries to change the date to 2006 but as he gets through the months ie
november 05, december 05, then it loops back to Jan 05 & not Jan 06 as I
would expect & as other users which it does.
Have checked any obvious settings but unfortunately I am no expert in
Project so any help would be appreciated.

Hi James,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

Nothing to forgive - we all have to start somewhere I'm not sure why it
is doing this - try Tools/Options/View tab and select a sample date that
includes the year. Are you using a fiscal year? Otherwise, if you click on
the year in the calendar pick list there is a spin controt that allows the
year to change. Finally, never enter or change start dates otherwise
Project will inject constraints which might affect the flexibility of your
project. Start dates should be automatically calculated by Project from the
finish date of the tasks's predecessor that's what Project is designed to
do!
