can’t uninstall MS OFFICE 200 premium

I can’t uninstall MS OFFICE 200 premium ( running on MS Windows 98 SE) . The program was causing problems it was also crashing and so on. Especially when we tried to insert an address form the address book in MS Word etc.
Now we cant even remove the program. We are planning purchasing Office XP and Windows XP professional. My question is: If we do the upgrades will Office 200 premium get uninstalled automatically or should we first do everything possible to remove the program.

Personally I've found O2K rock solid
Have you tried a repair installation?
Used Office Update?
Also Win Update?
If youve got problems, unless youre doing a Format then install you might be
wiser to address these before updating anything. After all is the crashing
an Office and or Win problem?
Lastly there is an uninstall option using the origonal disk.
Finally if your using all the Apps installed with O2K prem. ensure you
obtain the 'right' OfficeXP edition.

The main question is, is office 2000 premium listed in add/remove programs.
If it is remove it there and then go to the directories and delete them
completely. If it is not listed there then you can remove the directories
directly without a problem. You might want to reinstall it and keep it when
you upgrade to Windows XP.

As far a installing Windows XP. Go ahead. Office 2000 works fine under XP. I
have been using it with great results. Of course I'm assuming you have the
office 2000 disk.
