Can anyone explain embedded-object sizing in PowerPoint?

Hi,

I've pasted some Excel worksheet objects into my PowerPoint 2003
presentation. If I open an object to edit the data, then when I come back to
PowerPoint, it has resized my object. Since there also seems to be no way to
set the size in the PowerPoint UI apart from using the drag handles (which
is very inaccurate), it's driving me crazy.

Any ideas?
